How to Play WebTicTacToe
Step 1: Start a Game
Choose to "Create New Game" (Human vs Human or vs AI) or "Join Game" with a Room ID from a friend.
Step 2: Connect
If creating Human vs Human, share the Room ID with your friend. If vs AI, the game starts instantly.
Step 3: Play!
Take turns clicking on empty cells to place your X or O mark. First to get 3 in a row wins!
Official Tic Tac Toe Rules
- The game is played on a grid that is 3 squares by 3 squares.
- Player X goes first, Player O goes second.
- Players take turns putting their marks in empty squares.
- The first player to get 3 of their marks in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) is the winner.
- If all nine squares are filled and no player has three marks in a row, the game is a draw (sometimes called a "cat's game").
Winning Strategy Tips
- **Go First (X):** As X, try to take the center cell first. It offers the most winning combinations (4 diagonals).
- **Block:** Always check if your opponent is about to win on their next move and block them if necessary.
- **Create Forks:** Try to create situations where you have two possible ways to win on your next move (a "fork"). Your opponent can only block one, guaranteeing you a win.
- **Play Oppositely (O):** As O, if X takes the center, take a corner. If X takes a corner, take the center.
